Mazzei Field
| Clayton
Valley High School’s Mazzei Field, named after one of Clayton Valley High
School's biggest supporters and alumnus, Matt
Mazzei, Sr.. Mr. Mazzei headed the funding and execution of the
amazing renovation to the baseball complex in 1997 and has turned it into the
premier baseball High School complex in the Bay Area.

 |
The
dimensions of the field are 320 feet down the lines, 360 feet to the alleys, and
400 feet to center field. The outfield wall measures six feet tall.
In 2000 Matt Mazzei funded the construction of our batting & training
facility adjacent to the field. This facility is the finest in the Bay Area
and teams from Cal Berkeley, Los Medanos College and Diablo Valley College have
been known to use it on occasion. |
|
In
2008 Eagle families constructed a new score booth complete with power and sound
system. Also in 2008 with the funding assistance of the CVHS Athletic
Boosters Club and Superior Electric Supply, we purchased and installed our first
scoreboard.
In
2009 Matt Mazzei also funded the renovation of the infield with new sprinkler
system, drainage, mound repair and hearty new turf. Recently, Oakhurst Country
Club has stepped forward and committed to assist in the managing of the infield
turf.

This
is truly the jewel of Baseball fields in the East Bay, and with the continued
help of the Clayton Valley Athletic
Boosters, concerned Eagle Baseball families and friends of the program, - it
will continue to be.
Thank
you to Matt Mazzei, Eagle Families and Boosters for making our facility THE best
in the area!
